Welcome to the amazing world of Young Poet's containing a treasury of poems!
FROM THE EDITOR.S PEN ........
My dear young poets and poetry lovers,
Hearty greetings to you on behalf of the Young Poets Club of India and on my own behalf!
I am happy to communicate to you through these columns. Probably because our young poets were very busy with preparations for their annual examinations, the Young Poet did not get the required number of poems resulting in this combined issue for February- May 2007. Now that the examinations at all levels would have been over and most of the institutions have declared summer vacation, I do hope our young contributors will flood the YPCI with their creative writings and the next issue will be on time in August, 2007.
I have as usual a few things to share with you-almost personal yet something interesting to you as the member of the YPCI family.
All of you should have heard something about one of the greatest Tamil literary works-2300 years old- which has been translated in more than 90 languages of the world, next to Bible authored by the great Deivappulavar Tiruvalluvar captioned THIRUKKURAL consisting of 1330 couplets in Tamil made into three parts - Aram, Porul and Inbam. One will find the essence of all the great religious literature of the world in this work though
this cannot be treated as a treatiese, on religion! One can unhesitatingly declare that faithful following of the tenets of this work will lead to the most successful living on earth which will make them occupy seats along with others in heaven! I deem it as a duty to propagate the tenets of Thirukkural wherever I get an opportunity. In one of my earlier issues I informed you that my paper on the subject VALLUVAM INSPIRED MAHATMA GANDHI was selected for presentation in the International Thirukkural Conference held in Washington US in July 2006. One of the
leading organizations engaged in the mission of Thiruvalluvar in Tamilnadu has conferred the title THIRUKKURAL GNAYIRU on your Editor in January, 2007 in recognition of his services in the cause of VALLUVAM.
One of the leading private Television channels in Chennai viz Jaya T V organized a telecast of an interview with your Editor in which a lot of interesting questions on YPCI and its activities, your unique journal YOUNG POET, its contributing young poets, their talents, creative poetry writing etc. were asked and answered. To say the least, I was delighted at the same.
One of the books penned by your Editor titled MUTHAMIZH MALARGAL consisting of articles, poems and plays in Tamil was released in a simple yet majestic function in the city.
I am connected with two of the eMagazines by name www.nilacharal.com published from UK and www.mazalaigal.com from Kanchipuram as a contributor of articles, poems etc. Both these are bilingual (English and Tamil) and those who feel like, may go through these websites and find a good source to share your thoughts with others
