Welcome to the amazing world of Young Poet's containing a treasury of poems!

FROM THE EDITOR'S PEN

My dear young poets and poetry lovers,

Hearty greetings to you one and all on behalf of the Young Poets Club of India and on my own behalf!

All our Young Poets will be happily enjoying their summer vacation actively planning for the forth coming year. I wish you all, all the best in your educational and professional career.

I had a nice occasion to associate myself with a book launching function at Landmark, Nungambakkam, Chennai. Function was meticulously organized by Mrs. Glory Sasikala Franklin associated with the Chennai Poetry Circle. She is a great thinker, writer and poet. The occasion was to launch a great children's book titled "Terror in the Fun City" authored by Sri Ramendra Kumar of Rourkela. The sixteenth book of the author revolves around Aryan, Neil, Tanya and Imran and their dog Tiger who call themselves as Titans. Their mission statement is "When you think of trouble-shooting, think of Titans".

From a conversation that Aryan picks up at a hospital in Hyderabad (in the novel), they get drawn into a chilling plot that will lead to the death of many innocent lives. The Titans set out on a hunt for a terror group and soon become the hunted. What follows is a trail of suspect and action. According to a report in The Hindu:

"N.V. Subbaraman, Editor of Young Poet and Chief Guest for the evening, was so impressed by the book and the author that he ended up giving away the plot of the story. Even that could not wipe the smiles from Ramendra Kumar's face as he sat beaming smiling at the children in the audience". It was a memorable occasion indeed!

The current issue as usual includes regular features and some of the young poets who have contributed are new and the poems are quite intersting.

Quite a few messages have been received expressing their sorrow at the loss of four poets. Let the souls of the departed rest in peace!

People have endless woes. Woes are to be tackled firmly. Here is my thought on the same through my latest poem.

Endless Woes!

Endless woes seems his fate
Heart of hearts we do hate!
No more the woes he can bear
How to avoid is his care!

Woes indeed are his foes
One must bring under toes!
Endless woes or gutless mind
What causes the woes of such kind?

Face the Woes with stubborn heart
Yielding not is surely an art!

Good or bad one does on earth
Joy or Woe visits him with mirth
As one is destined to have!
Grieve not over woes nor glee on joy!
Take the life of woes and joys
With equanimity and poise!

Together we go, together we grow, together we prosper, together we share our knowledge, joys and sorrows!

Wishing you all, all the best till we meet through the next issue!

Yours in literary service

(N.V. Subbaraman)
