Feedback for November 2007 issue
ELDERS RESPOND
Thanks for sending me a copy of your Zetetic Pastiche Young Poet, Nov.07 meant to fire the poetic imagination of the teenagers and their peer groups. To fire the teenager's poetic imagination is not a child's play. To bring to light the dark horses, to frame their mind and, above all, to shape spirit of the teenagers is the prime motto of this father figure's chef-d' oeuvre entitled 'Young Poet'.
The poems on star, night, environment, tree etc., bring to light the feelings of their thrilled heart. They focus their attention on different aspects of life such as love, friendship, life, confusion, friend, god, travel, dream and many more. In a nutshell, I advise the poetry lovers to go through it and shape spirits by removing viper thoughts from our would be connoisseur.
Dr. A.K. Choudhary,

It was a thrilling moment to receive 'Young Poet'. As usual it contained pretty poems as a tree bloomed with
different flowers.
What a pathetic year 07 - we have lost great poets miserably. We do not know how to express our feelings. Dr. Krishna Srinivas - I adore him so much, In fact he has given me great opportunity by publishing my poems and even my students poems in his journal 'Poet'. In the same way Dr. Srinivasa Rangaswami. When I read Mohd Shuaib's father's letter and his own letter, I did not know how to console his parents, his friends and fellow poets. I sincerely pray God for their innocent souls to rest in eternal peace!
Next when we talk about 'The world congress of poets' I felt as if I have also attended the meet. I wish to thank you whole heartedly for publishing 23 poems from our school. All the students, parents and management are delighted. Some of the students are willing to subscribe 'Young Poet' on their own.
At present, I am not keeping good health. So I have resigned the school job and I am now taking care of my husband's business 'Apollo Sindhoori' Capital Investments Limited. Kindly send the future communications to that address.
All the poems in this issue are very nice. It is a good variety. To start from Anish 'Our Future' he says we cannot
predict the future, / we must realize our present / We can save the world / the human being and all the living beings
in our earth/. The poem by Fouqia Wajid 'Environment Diminishing Motherhood, 'Nature' by Sathya Sai Kripa, and Varsha and Nancy's Trees. Also says the same theme 'guard our mother who guards everything'.
K. Aravind's poem is fantastic. He wishes to color the stars and he wishes to build a big star. What a creative
imagination he has? Bhavana's dream has come in the form of 'Dream'. Sowmiya lakshana's travel ' A dream come true' by Utkarsh Shekhar are also dream. Some words in English are complicated. Though they seem to be simple, it is not, for e.g. 'Love' of M.Chandni depicts clearly. She also admires rain and gives a brief description in its 'Rainy today'. Devi reminds us the tragedy 'Tsunami' 'Came like a jet/went like a tortoise' / is impressive. S. Dhanya is improving day by day. The incident of Prince nobody might have forgotten. 'One thing is sure that all came forward to save the life of a five year old boy' in Haryana.
Again the poem written by Dhanya and Niveditha Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam is fantastic 'Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam / I praise you and adore you / my role model and my teacher / Your footsteps I would follow." Gargi Saha's 'Statued' the conclusion is striking 'do we really need statutes to make the birth of a Mogul / or sow the seeds of benevolence, atrium, gratitude in the minds for all. Haripriya, Sagana Satish and Niveditha have written about friendship. Some times small children turn to be like philosophers. Khaushik Ram's poem on 'Mahatma Gandhi' says 'When we see the optimistic view we can achieve more'.
Mohammed Shuaib's last poem 'All that I ask' is wonderful. I sincerely hope he might have reached heaven and not the scary hell. I want to ask God one thing why He has taken such a good soul so early? Shuaib could have done many wonderful things if he is present. Mufaris 'Book' is very simple Narkavi's 'life' is a poem which we have already heard of but in a different tone. Nirupama Rajan's poem ' Lovely swans ' is lovely. It is very picturesque.
S. Pradeep's love for his mother is expressed in the poem 'Who is She'. Priya Subramaniam's poem the 'Fox' is a story
type poem. It is interesting and creates suspense until the end. Ranjitha's 'New way to celebrate Diwali' is very
interesting I appreciate Ranjitha's feelings. Shrishti's 'My cat' is very simple. Shruthi's Santa Claus is an apt poem
during the Christmas season. Sindhuja Anand is addressing to 'God the almighty'. Srishti's 'Alone In the Crowd' is quite confusing and the concept is not very clear for the young readers. Vignesh's Teachers is also a simple poem on teachers.
Here with I'm enclosing a few poems. Kindly do the needful. I'll try to send some more poems in a short period. Once again I thank you for all your support.

It is indeed a kind gesture of you to send vol 8 No. 1 of young poet.
2007 has lost two stalwarts of poetic world. One is Dr. Krishna Srinivas, Editor Poet. I remember meeting him in 1994 at his house when I was taken there to get introduced since I was writing only Tamil poems. Then he asked me. "What are you?" I told him that I am a retired engineer. He wondered what an engineer can know about art and poetry. I gave him my poem "Venus" planet which he went through then and there and published the same within three months. Then there was no going back. He would have published more than hundred poems of mine in fourteen years. It is a pity that I do not have a copy of any of these issues or poems, I can publish a volume from them.
The other loss is Dr. Srinivasa Rangaswamy who always appreciated my 'Haiku' poems.
Both have moved a stone like me to reach the heights of poetic world which I may not truly deserve. May their souls rest in peace. Their poems will always inspire young people. You can give glimpses of their ideas in your next issue.
A young poet of Bangalore - Mohammed Shuaib is also no more unfortunately. May his soul rest in peace.
Your article "In the world of poets and poetry" is highly absorbing for a voracious reader like me.
That our former president Abdul Kalam attended the function is a great news, to me. Your poem "World needs an urgent war" is a beacon call to all the poets of the world. Let us carry the message all our lives. To root out terrorism is indeed a great Herculian task.
Congratulations to all the young poets. Let their creativity grow to cast a light which is radiant.

Thanks for the 'Young Poet' Nov. 2007. Sorry for the untimely and premature demise of the Young Poet, Mohammed Shuaib. He had struck plaintive notes in his last poem 'All that / Ask' Allah will certainly grant his last wish to 'lay open the gates of heaven' to admit him. He himself wanted his life to be shorter. Perhaps he had premonition of what was coming. Coming events cast their shadows before. May his soul rest in peace

Well. Deem to hear the same from you.
Let this "New Year" bring peace and prosperity. I have received 'Young Poet' of Nov.07. The passing away of Dr. Srinivasa Rangaswamy and Dr. Krishna Srinivas happens to be an immense loss to the literary world in general and world of poetry in particular.
I would like to stand among the established - and budding poets to pay my homage to the gentle souls who are no more with us. Through this letter I convey my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members, well wishers, readers and contributors.

I have great pleasure in wishing you and your family a very happy and prosperous new year 2008.
So nice of you to have sent the nov. 07 issue of "Young Poet". Very happy to note that "Young Poet" has put on weight, both in terms of increasing number of contributions and the quality of materials presented. I am also delighted to know that young poet has gone on line. I also learn from the latest issue that Chennai hosted the XXVII World Congress of Poets during August - September 2007. I read with interest your eminently readable summary of the activities of the congress.
I am aware that you have contributed, in no small measure, to all the above achievements, almost single handedly. Kindly accept my heartiest congratulations, complements and appreciation on this splendid effort of yours, in the cause of 'poetry'.
I shall arrange to send a cheque shortly towards the current year's subscription for 'Young Poet'
With all the best wishes and compliments.

Young Poet Nov. 2007 is a mix up of both pleasant & unpleasant worlds. First, let me mourn the deaths of Dr. Krishna Srinivas, doyen of Indian English poetry, Dr. Srinivasa Rangaswamy, an eminent Tamil scholar & English poet who left us for heavenly abode. May they continue to bless us, Sir. Next, I am equally shocked by the untimely death of Mohd. Shuaib, a budding poet who died young. Further, a good presentation of report about XXVII world congress of poets in Chennai. Thoroughly comprehensive in the presentation of events that took place. Next, I am moved by your poem, "World needs an urgent war". Dhanya continues her contributions of poems to Young Poet. She has almost become a regular
contributor. Well done, Dhanya, keep it up. Young Poets deal with all aspects of life in this issue. Best wishes to all.

Thank you very much for sending me the November' 07 issue of 'Young Poet'. It is indeed very kind of you to remember me even after such a long time.
Hope you are keeping good health and every one in the family is fine. I still remember the days we spent together at Bikaner. I can never forget, your sense of involvement, despite all your personal and family problems.
Your creativity in designing flashes - playing beautifully with words - is, even today fresh in my memory. 'Young Poet' is nothing but an extension of your creativity. I feel inspired that you are keeping yourself busy after retirement in such a meaningful way.

I have received Nov.2007 (vol.8, No.1) issue of 'young poet' and thank you for the same.
You have expressed with gratitude and respects to the departed souls, Dr. Krishna Srinivas and Dr. Srinivasa
Rangaswami, who have nurtured the literature and spread it the world over with their unstinted efforts throughout
their life. They are like polestar in the field of literature to guide with their works to the present generation.
The memories of these luminaries would be ever fresh in our minds.
May God bless their souls to rest in peace.

Thanks for sending me your gem of a journal 'Young Poet' containing superb poems and enlightening articles. In one single sitting I went through it from cover to cover marvelling at the talent and expertise of the young budding
poets.
I join you in mourning the sad demise of our most venerable poets - Padma Bhushan Dr. Krishna Srinivas and Dr. Srinivasa Rangaswamy. The deep void created by their departure none can ever fill. They were beacon to us in the
true sense of the word. Though I never had the good fortune of meeting Dr. Krishna Srinivas personally, but I
heard his voice over the phone and relished his poems to draw sustenance.
Words are not enough to express my profound grief and shock at the death of Dr. Srinivasa Rangaswami. Eyes refuse to believe and ears shun the sad news. Yearly meetings in the poetry festival at Bangalore made us develop close mental affinity. Both of us shared wonderful rapport and many platforms together. I find it hard to reconcile with his absence. On 8th December 2007, I could not attend the poetry festival owing to my own mother's sad death on 30 Nov. 2007 and my daughter-in-law's surgery on 6th of December 2007. Strangely both of us - the regular participants missed the poetry festival for the first time - for different reasons of course.
I express very sincerest grief over the untimely premature demise of a young poet Mohammed Shuaib. Life sniffed in the bud I also mourn the sad death of all from the core of my heart mentioned in your editorial. Allow me use your platform to convey my heartfelt condolenses to the berieved members of their respective families.
In the world of poets and poetry on page 14 impressed me tremendously. I would like to join the World Academy of Arts and Culture, California (USA). Do help me become its member so that I can participate in the forthcoming World Congress of Poets. Enlighten me of all the details guiding me like a beacon. My intellectually starved self craves for like-minded company. Escort me in
their beautiful realm. I shall be grateful to you. Your early response is solicited.

I have very thoroughly read the Nov. issue of Young Poet. I find the poems very interesting. Our new generation

poetry, to me appears bright. So my congratualtions to all young poets published in this Issue.

I am very happy to receive the "Young Poet". Earlier it was thin and it is becoming fat now a days. I am very happy about this matter. However, my heart ached by knowing the sad news about the great poets. May their souls rest in peace. Aravind says he wants to paint the stars, May his wish be fulfilled, Havana says her dreams in the form of a poem. Chandini's poems are in the rhyme scheme. Devi is still angry at Tsunami. All the poems are like diamonds hidden under a rock and like pearls inside oyster. Any way I thank you once again for publishing my simple poems in your esteemed book. Now also I am sending a couple of my poems kindly do the needful.

My days were gone with being rattled in the shawl of boredom. So this is the basic cause for not sending my poems to you. This is still the regret I owe till now in my heart. And with a please, I request you to publish my poem in your next issue.
You are the pioneer to this world of young poet, where you have given a bright start to those dozing beauties like me. And my negligence of not sending my poems to you, you might end up with the thought "She is acting of too much!"
Here I once again with refreshing mind and new thoughts of New Year and apologizing for my old deed. I wish you happy New Year and may you shine like star in every young Poet's heart.
