Poems in May 2007 issue

Spring break
Spring break has come to an end
I am filled with sadness and grief
My broken heart, I cannot mind
Why, oh why did it seem so brief?

Though it was short, it was also great fun.
I got to sleep in and watch some T.V.
I spent time with my friends and got chores done
And there was no homework to initiate one

Spring break allows you to overlook
All your schoolwork graders, and stress
To forget about all the teachers and books
And stop worrying about those stupid final tasks!

All good things must come to an end
And for spring break there is also true
'Cause here comes school, right around the bend ?
And there will be lots of work to do.

But it doesn't matter how bad I feel
As my heart is filled with a dull, sure ache
I know it's time to get real
'Cause I can always look forward to
SUMMER BREAK
