Poems in May 2007 issue

child
The wind howled and the sky scowled
The trees were trembling hiding numerous fowls
The villagers were safe inside the houses
The men sat smoking and the women sewed blouses

But far away near the ruined mansion
There sat a strange glowing apparition
With silky long hair and a little round nose
The beautiful child - a Gentle rose

Crying bitterly filled with sorrow
But no one took pity except a little sparrow
It flew curiously towards the child
But settle itself on the tall electric post

The child looked up - her face shining with tears
But the sparrow flew closer and stood near her
It sang too softly and sent her to sleep
Now the child was happy No longer did she weep

So the child and the sparrow
Lived happily together
And their friendship went on
For ever and ever
